The 2008 World Players Championship is a major Scrabble tournament that will attract top players from around the world, including several World Champions. It takes place in Dallas at the Crowne Plaza Suites Dallas Park Central on November 13–16, beginning with a reception on the evening of the 13th, and continuing with three days of tournament play culminating in one player winning the $10,000 top prize.

It is being organized and sponsored by Chris Cree, a Dallas resident, expert Scrabble player, and organizer of the Dallas Open and (U.S.) Players Championship events.
